	<title>Credit Card</title>
	<description>
Qualifying for a credit card
Qualifying for a credit card can be as easy as one, two, three. The credit card really can be your best friend if you understand how the system works. At the same time, not being knowledgeable about credit can be detrimental to your future. Number one, try to make your payments on time. Most consumers don't understand but we score "good" points with lenders by meeting all our payments on time. Another thing most consumers don't know about their credit cards is that by applying for a dozen and not using them doesn't establish reputable credit. People often assume that just because they have a credit card from a certain company that they are establishing a good credit rapport. Not true! Number two reads as follows: if you don't use it, destroy it. Number three is avoid living beyond your means. Lenders don't want a high-risk consumer walking around with their credit card. People don't understand that lenders often do a pretty extensive background check. Having a stable career and living situation is another plus for a consumer in search of a credit card. Of course, you could lie on your credit card application, but we already established that honesty is the best policy. You can't fool lenders.

Credit cards-a living nightmare
Just as easily as the credit card provides comfort and solace, it provides hellfire and brimstone. Credit card debt is not a joke and it can make your life unmanageable. Lenders have ways of making you pay. If you are regularly late on your payments they will penalize you and increase your interest rates. What are you going to do, stop using the card? You still have to pay off the debt you accumulate. Are you going to stop using the credit cards altogether? They will penalize you for that, too. So now what? No one wants to give you a credit card. Your credit stinks and you are struggling to makes ends. Usually, the only option is the prepaid credit card.

The relationship is really symbiotic. You need something from them and they need something from you. Treat each other nicely, play fair, and everything should go smoothly. Actually, the consumer doesn't really have a choice. You either play by the rules or they hurt your credit and no one needs that. Bankruptcy stays on your credit report for seven years making loans and buying property a living hell. So, whether the forecast is sunny, or overcast with scattered showers, you have control of your financial future. Hopefully, the future is bright.

And you can make sure of that bright future with an American Express or Discover credit card. Get a Discover Card online today.
